Eliz­a­beth Polin­er is the author of the recent­ly pub­lished nov­el, As Close to Us as Breath­ing (Lee­Boudreaux Books / Lit­tle Brown), which is an Ama­zon Best Books of 2016 So Far” forfiction/​literature. She has also pub­lished a nov­el-in-sto­ries, Mutu­al Life & Casu­al­ty, and apo­et­ry col­lec­tion, What You Know in Your Hands. Her sto­ries and poems have appeared innu­mer­ous lit­er­ary jour­nals, includ­ing the Keny­on Review, South­ern Review, Prairie Schooner,and Col­orado Review. A recip­i­ent of sev­en indi­vid­ual artist grants from the D.C. Com­mis­sionon the Arts and Human­i­ties, she has also received fel­low­ships from the Mac­Dow­ell Colony,Yaddo, the Vir­ginia Cen­ter for the Cre­ative Arts, and the Wurl­itzer Foun­da­tion. She teach­es inthe MFA pro­gram at Hollins University.
