Free Your Child from Overeating provides a comprehensive mind-body approach that deals with all facets of the obesity issue. New research has found mind-body approaches to be significantly effective in the long-term effects of youth health outcomes. But a key component of weightloss has not been adequately addressed: the psychological barriers to dealing with obesity.

This book is geared toward ten- to eighteen-year-olds who are struggling with overeating. Unhealthful eating and exercise behaviors put kids and teens’ well-being and self-confidence at risk. Dr. Michelle P. Maidenberg shares 53 strategies (rooted in mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy), for parents to help free their child from overeating by empowering and building their child’s confidence. The interactive exercises help facilitate lifelong health for kids and teens. It can be tempting to hope that kids and teens overeating is“just a phase,” but the price of inaction is too high.
