Can someone — anyone — in Jerusalem teach this foolish young man all of Torah…while standing on one foot? Of course! The very wise Rabbi Hillel, who reminds him: Do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you. All the rest is just comments and explanations,” he explains to his student. This is a fun retelling of the famous story, with an educational note at the back to put Hillel in fuller context. The author does a nice job of showing how the rabbi’s words actually work, and the collage-style illustrations are appealing.

Recommended for ages 5 – 9.
