Aron Hirt-Manheimer founded Davka magazine, and edited Reform Judaism magazine (URJ) from 1976 to 2014. His books include Against Silence: The Voice and Vision of Elie Wiesel (Holocaust Library), Jagendorf’s Foundry: A Memoir of the Romanian Holocaust (HarperCollins), and Jews: The Essence and Character of a People (HarperCollins). He holds a Masters in Jewish Education from HUC-JIR and lives in Connecticut.
