The Devash Megillat Esther is a treat for the eyes and a way to complete the Purim experience. It includes the full traditional text of the Book of Esther, printed in a font that recalls a Megillah scroll. The book also contains translations into English, directions for the synagogue reading on Purim, commentaries on relevant ancient rabbis, and excerpts from the Talmud — a veritable feast of Purim study, knowledge, and entertainment. Analyses of Achashverosh and explanations about why Esther was given her name provide an excellent exercise in high-level thinking. Illustrations are in full color and are reminiscent of stories set in a Persian palace.

Although this book is packed with information, its overall design makes it accessible to middle-grade readers and adults alike. Anyone who is looking for the complete Purim package will be delighted to find this comprehensive, user-friendly book.
