Ruth Zelig migrated three times and lived in four countries before the age of twenty, learning at least five languages. She got a master’s in linguistics at the University of Rochester, NY, after a bachelor’s in linguistics and French at Lehman College, CUNY. She was a Systems Engineer at IBM. While raising her children, she volunteered in her Jewish community and became president of Temple Sholom in Bridgewater, NJ. English remains her primary language for writing. Ruth is also a photographer and a Master Gardener. Ruth lives in Manhattan, NY, with her husband of forty-three years. They also spend time at their home in the Hudson Valley, where Ruth wrote the book.
