Adri­anne Black (she/​her), for­mer­ly R. Derek Black, is a his­to­ri­an and the author of The Klansman’s Son: My Jour­ney From White Nation­al­ism to Antiracism. Since 2016 she has shared her sto­ry with audi­ences across the coun­try — from uni­ver­si­ties and cul­tur­al insti­tu­tions to syn­a­gogues and church­es — about how com­mu­ni­ties, con­flict, and belong­ing shape the way peo­ple change their beliefs. She lives is a doc­tor­al can­di­date in his­to­ry at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Chicago.
