Ami Fields-Mey­er is a senior fel­low at the Har­vard Kennedy School and a for­mer White House senior pol­i­cy advi­sor. He has served as a strate­gist to nation­al civ­il rights orga­ni­za­tions, polit­i­cal can­di­dates, and high-pro­file pub­lic offi­cials from Los Ange­les City Hall to the West Wing. Fields-Meyer’s writ­ing on democ­ra­cy and civ­il rights has been pub­lished in The New York­er, The Atlantic, and For­eign Pol­i­cy. He is a term mem­ber of the Coun­cil on For­eign Relations.
