Brumm lived in Israel for fif­teen years. A PhD in Com­par­a­tive Lit­er­a­ture, she taught in the Depart­ment of For­eign Lit­er­a­tures at Ben­Gu­ri­on Uni­ver­si­ty. A pre­vi­ous novel/​memoir, Come Drink Cof­fee With Me – Hus­band Hunt­ing in Israel (1994) sur­veyed the sin­gles scene and a poet­ry col­lec­tion, Last Exit to Peace (2000) por­trayed the socio-polit­i­cal area. An award-win­ning poet, she also writes about lit­er­a­ture and the inde­pen­dent cinema.
