Gluten Is My Bitch: Rants, Recipes, & Ridiculousness for the Gluten-Free came about when April Peveteaux was diagnosed with celiac disease, and couldn’t get excited about quinoa. Gluten-free recipes abound, including Jewish holiday standards: latkes, kugel, and brisket. A friendly guide through the gluten-free life, GIMB offers a side of humor, and a dash of attitude as Peveteaux allows people with digestive issues to complain all they want, just so they can then be cheered up as they enjoy her recipes for delicious gluten-free food. Peveteaux also helps parents who have celiac children, explores how to be a vegan and gluten-free (but rest assured, she is not one of those brave souls that rejects cheese along with her gluten), and provides insight into the future of medical science. Yes, the answer to the question: Will I ever eat gluten again?” is (somewhat) answered as well. GIMB: Volume 2 will most certainly chronicle her adventures in perfecting gluten-free matzoh ball soup, and challah. Because that will be quite a feat.
