The world-famous com­pil­er of excit­ing sto­ries, Baron Mun­chausen, praised this book. The great mas­ter said the fol­low­ing: ​“I nev­er thought that my con­tem­po­raries and coun­try­men, the Ukrain­ian Hasids, could invent and tell such skill­ful nar­ra­tives!” The Baron went on to remark that in his opin­ion, the sto­ries should be called ​“Absolute­ly Incred­i­ble Sto­ries,” so that by this they might be dis­tin­guished from his own absolute­ly truth­ful opus­es. The astute read­er, accord­ing to Munсhausen, will undoubt­ed­ly rec­og­nize the seri­ous inten­tions behind the humor­ous title.
