The Adventure of the Peculiar Protocols takes place in 1905, where Sherlock Holmes, turning fifty and contemplating retirement, is summoned instead by his brother Mycroft on behalf of the Foreign Office, to investigate the alleged minutes of a secret meeting of Jews scheming to take over the world. As preposterous as the plot first seems, Holmes and the faithful Dr. Watson soon find themselves enmeshed in a far more sinister and complex conspiracy that takes them into the heart of restive Tsarist Russia in the company of a beautiful and mysterious woman. With mutiny aboard the battleship Potemkin, and defeat at the hands of the Japanese, Russia is on the brink of revolution. What in fact are the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and will Holmes and Watson make it out of Russia alive?
