Some­where in her dis­tant past, Karen was an equi­ties ana­lyst and wrote stuff for grownups. But after her chil­dren were born she real­ized that it was much more fun to write for kids. Karen also pro­vides math and lit­er­a­cy sup­port to inner-city kids. She lives in Toron­to with her hus­band, two kids, and a dog named Cocoa.
