David Biespiel is the author of eleven books, most recent­ly Repub­lic Café and The Edu­ca­tion of a Young Poet. A con­trib­u­tor to The New Repub­lic, The New York­er, and Slate, he has received Lan­nan Foun­da­tion, NEA, and Steg­n­er fel­low­ships, two Ore­gon Book Awards, and been a final­ist for the Nation­al Book Crit­ics Cir­cle Bal­akian Award. He is Poet-in-Res­i­dence at Ore­gon State University.
