David Niren­berg is the Jan­not­ta Pro­fes­sor of His­to­ry and Social Thought at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Chica­go. An expert on rela­tions between Judaism, Islam, and Chris­tian­i­ty, he is also a fre­quent con­trib­u­tor to The New Repub­lic, The Nation, Dis­sent, and The Lon­don Review of Books, and appears occa­sion­al­ly on His­to­ry Chan­nel and PBS.
