Deb­o­rah Tan­nen is a pro­fes­sor of lin­guis­tics at George­town Uni­ver­si­ty. Among her many books, You Just Don’t Under­stand was on The New York Times best­seller list for near­ly four years; You’re Wear­ing THAT? and You Were Always Mom’s Favorite! were also New York Times best­sellers. She fre­quent­ly appears on nation­al tele­vi­sion and radio and has writ­ten for all major print media.
