Born to Jew­ish refugees in Peru, edu­cat­ed in the Unit­ed States, long-time cit­i­zen of Cana­da, Eva Neiss­er Echen­berg is pas­sion­ate about cross-cul­tur­al under­stand­ing. After teach­ing for many years at Col­lege Edouard-Mont­petit in Mon­tre­al, she found­ed a small pub­lish­ing com­pa­ny to cre­ate cul­tur­al mate­ri­als for the Span­ish-lan­guage class­room. Recent­ly she col­lab­o­rat­ed in the reset­tle­ment of four Syr­i­an fam­i­lies in Montreal.
