A Chicagoan living in New York, Gina Schmeling is Jewish Book Council’s first Director of Development. A fundraiser for thirty years, she has worked at ACLU, WBEZ, UJA, Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, and Lincoln Center Theater. Gina serves on the board of Eden Village Camp and was on the board of Hannah Senesh Community Day School. She is a graduate of Stanford University, with a degree in Drama with honors in Humanities. She holds two degrees from New York University, an MA in Humanities, and an EMPA in Public Administration. She was a critical studies fellow at The Whitney Museum. Running often brings her to Prospect Park, her home track, or over one of the bridges to Manhattan. A lifelong reader and Cubs fan, she lives in Brooklyn with her family and many books.
