Janet Stern­burg is an author and edi­tor. Her pre­vi­ous books include The Writer on Her Work and the mem­oir Phan­tom Limb. She lives in Los Ange­les, where she part­ners with her hus­band, pres­i­dent of Cal­i­for­nia Insti­tute of the Arts, on pro­grams in all the arts. She is also a visu­al artist whose work has been exhib­it­ed internationally.
