Julien Gorbach’s arti­cles have appeared in The Boston Globe, The Boston Phoenix, Time Out New York, The San Fran­cis­co Bay Guardian, and The New Orleans Gam­bit. He earned his doc­tor­ate in media his­to­ry at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mis­souri-Colum­bia, and is an assis­tant pro­fes­sor in the School of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Hawaii at Manoa.
