New York-born author Lee Man­del is a retired U.S. Navy physi­cian, author, and his­to­ri­an. He has appeared twice on the His­to­ry Chan­nel in con­junc­tion with his research on John F. Kennedy. A fre­quent­ly invit­ed his­to­ry lec­tur­er, his first nov­el, Moryak: A Nov­el of the Russ­ian Rev­o­lu­tion, was Grand Prize win­ner at the San­ta Fe Cre­ative Arts Coun­cil com­pe­ti­tion in 2010.
