Marc Michael Epstein is Mackie M. Paschall (1899) and Norman Davis Chair in Religion and Visual Culture and Director of Jewish Studies at Vassar College. His book Skies of Parchment, Seas of Ink won the 2015 National Jewish Book Award in the arts category. During the 1980s, Epstein was Director of the Hebrew Books and Manuscripts division of Sotheby’s Judaica department, and he continues to serve as a consultant to various libraries, auction houses, museums, and private collectors throughout the world.
