Marcie Maxfield is an author, essayist, and feminist whose work blends humor, authenticity, and sharp cultural observation. She is the author of JewGirl and the award- winning novel Em’s Awful Good Fortune, praised for its “equally funny and brutal” voice by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Junot Dí- az. Her award-winning play about growing up as a girl was produced at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Maxfield is from Detroit, and lives in Southern California.
