Born and bred in New York City, Martha Mendel­sohn ven­tured as far as Westch­ester for Sarah Lawrence Col­lege. She worked as a read­er for Holt Rine­hart and Win­ston, asso­ciate edi­tor of Tikkun mag­a­zine, and a reg­u­lar con­trib­u­tor to The Jew­ish Week. Her fic­tion and non-fic­tion have appeared in The New York Times, Tikkun and Moment mag­a­zines, and online.
