M.Z. Daskal is an award-win­ning writer whose work has appeared in New Let­ters, Grist, New Eng­land Review, and Jab­ber­wock Review. Her debut nov­el, The Teacher of Lost Orphans, draws on archival research and was inspired by her Holo­caust- sur­vivor grand­par­ents, who mar­ried in the Cyprus intern­ment camps in 1947. She teach­es cre­ative writ­ing in Ari­zona, where she lives with her hus­band and two sons.
