R. S. Stein­berg stud­ied lin­guis­tics and Mid­dle Eng­lish poet­ry before going on to med­i­cine and the prac­tice of orthopaedic surgery. After an injury end­ed his career, he turned to writ­ing fic­tion and per­son­al essays which have been pub­lished in Fic­tion, Bananafish, Mul­ber­ry Fork Review, The Boston Globe and else­where. He lives in Mass­a­chu­setts with his wife.
