Stephen M. Sil­ver­man is the author of 13 books, includ­ing The Catskills and Fun­ny Ladies. His work has appeared in Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, The Chica­go Tri­bune, Newsweek, The New York Times, The Lon­don Times, Smith­son­ian, Vogue, and The Wash­ing­ton Post. He is a 20-year vet­er­an of Time Inc., and taught at the Colum­bia Uni­ver­si­ty Grad­u­ate School of Journalism.
