I am a physi­cian, writer, and mom. I am also the child and grand­child of Holo­caust sur­vivors. Like all chil­dren of sur­vivors, the lega­cy I car­ry is a heavy one. In my new book I recount the coura­geous way my grand­par­ents man­aged to save their young fam­i­ly dur­ing the dark­est days of Euro­pean his­to­ry. Did I inher­it some of these expe­ri­ences in my own DNA?
