Tara Austen Weaver writes about trav­el, food, cul­ture, and the envi­ron­ment. She is the author of The Butch­er and the Veg­e­tar­i­an and Tales from High Moun­tain, and writes the award-win­ning blog Tea & Cook­ies. She is trained as a mas­ter gar­den­er and per­ma­cul­ture design­er. Weaver lives in Seat­tle, WA, where she is also the edi­tor of Edi­ble Seat­tle magazine.
