Avra­ham Burg

Avra­ham Burg is a vet­er­an senior mem­ber of the Israeli Labor Par­ty. A Mem­ber of Knes­set from 1988 – 1995, he has an impres­sive leg­isla­tive record. He then became Exec­u­tive Chair­man of the Jew­ish Agency for Israel. He returned to the Knes­set in 1999 as Speak­er.

He is an advo­cate for spir­i­tu­al plu­ral­ism and reli­gious equal­i­ty in the Israeli soci­ety and sep­a­ra­tion of pol­i­tics and reli­gion in Israel.
Avra­ham was born and raised in Jerusalem. He lives with his fam­i­ly in Nataf.
