Bob­bi Korn­blit’s nov­el, Shel­ter from the Texas Heat, won the 2013 Mul­ti­cul­tur­al-fic­tion Indie Excel­lence Award and the Best Book in Wom­en’s Fic­tion for the 2012 NABE Pin­na­cle Book Achieve­ment Award. The nov­el with a Jew­ish twist blends the tales of three gen­er­a­tions of women, from the Kennedy ​“Camelot Years” to the present. Set in Dal­las and Austin, the themes are uni­ver­sal: prej­u­dice and fam­i­ly rela­tion­ships — tem­pered with plen­ty of humor and a dash of Yid­dish. The book has been com­pared in reviews to The Help. Korn­blit grad­u­at­ed from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Texas at Austin and holds a Mas­ters from KSU.
