A congressional race in a trendy rural town upends relationships and challenges loyalties amongst a group of gay second-home owners and a local family. Set against the backdrop of a divided district undergoing a dramatic economic transition, Town & Country puts urban and rural America side-by-side as it explores regional gentrification, the emergence of gay political power, the lingering trauma of AIDS alongside the modern scourge of opioids, and the evolution of faith. Told from multiple points of view, it captures the freedom and fallout that results when people choose, or are forced, to confront familial, communal, and political allegiances. Spanning six months from Memorial Day to Election Day, Town & Country paints a kaleidoscopic portrait of a community and individuals in flux and asks the essential and timeless questions: What makes a home, and what do we owe our neighbors?
