A need to understand the Holocaust has shaped Dan McMillan’s life since he first read about the tragedy at age fourteen: he became fluent in German, studied History at Stanford University and at the Freie Universität in Berlin, earned his doctorate in German history at Columbia University, and taught history at universities in Illinois, New Jersey, and New York. Dr. McMillan has spoken at the University of Chicago, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Presidential Library, and the National Archives in Washington, D.C., among other venues. He lives in New York City.
