About the Event

Join the Weitz­man Nation­al Muse­um of Amer­i­can Jew­ish His­to­ry and Jew­ish Book Coun­cil as we cel­e­brate inspir­ing and influ­en­tial women lead­ers in the Jew­ish com­mu­ni­ty at our annu­al Women’s Lead­er­ship Forum lun­cheon. The lun­cheon will begin at 11 AM at the Weitz­man Museum.

The lun­cheon will include a VIP tour of The Weitzman’s spe­cial exhi­bi­tion, The First Salute, or the Museum’s new per­ma­nent instal­la­tion, Col­ors of Cre­ation, a catered lunch, and a pro­gram with author Cather­ine Ostler.

Cather­ine is a New York Times best­selling author and will speak about her recent book, The Renoir Girls. The book explores the two youngest daugh­ters of a promi­nent Jew­ish French fam­i­ly, pil­lars of Parisian high soci­ety in the late 19th and ear­ly 20th cen­turies, who are depict­ed in Pink and Blue, one of Renoir’s mid-career masterpieces.

About the Author

Cather­ine Ostler is an author and jour­nal­ist who has been Edi­tor-in-Chief of Tatler, the Evening Stan­dard mag­a­zine (Lon­don), and Edi­tor of The Times (Lon­don) Week­end. She has also writ­ten for a wide range of pub­li­ca­tions, includ­ing The Wall Street Jour­nal, The Dai­ly Tele­graph (Lon­don), the Finan­cial Times, and Vogue. She stud­ied Eng­lish at Oxford Uni­ver­si­ty. Her first book was the crit­i­cal­ly acclaimed The Duchess Count­ess: The Woman Who Scan­dal­ized Eigh­teenth-Cen­tu­ry London.

The Women’s Lead­er­ship Forum (WLF) is a mem­ber­ship pro­gram in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Jew­ish Book Coun­cil that con­venes around edu­ca­tion­al oppor­tu­ni­ties here at the Weitz­man.
