Dr. Janette Sil­ver­man, a pro­fes­sion­al geneal­o­gist, began her genealog­i­cal jour­ney with her dad, search­ing for infor­ma­tion about their fam­i­ly, nev­er imag­in­ing they would trace the fam­i­ly to 18th cen­tu­ry Europe. The hob­by became an obses­sion and ulti­mate­ly led to her career shift from Jew­ish edu­ca­tion to geneal­o­gy. Her doc­tor­al dis­ser­ta­tion, ​“In Liv­ing Mem­o­ry” was based on her genealog­i­cal research.
