Joe Klein is an award-win­ning jour­nal­ist and the author of six books, includ­ing the best­seller Pri­ma­ry Col­ors. His week­ly Time col­umn cov­ers U.S. pol­i­tics, elec­tions, and for­eign pol­i­cy, and has won two Nation­al Head­lin­er Awards for best mag­a­zine col­umn. Pre­vi­ous­ly, he served as Wash­ing­ton cor­re­spon­dent for The New York­er and as a polit­i­cal reporter for Newsweek. Klein grad­u­at­ed from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Penn­syl­va­nia with a degree in Amer­i­can Civ­i­liza­tion. He is a mem­ber of the Coun­cil on For­eign Rela­tions and a for­mer Guggen­heim fellow.
