Jude Berman grew up amid floor-to-ceil­ing books in many lan­guages, with refugee par­ents who instilled a deep appre­ci­a­tion for social jus­tice. Based in Berke­ley, Cal­i­for­nia, with an EdD from UMass Amherst, she works as a free­lance edi­tor; and is the author of three award-win­ning books of fic­tion, with a fourth on the way.
