Mark Patinkin, longtime Providence Journal columnist, is a Pulitzer Prize finalist in International Reporting. In addition to, The Holy Land at War, Mark has written about African famine, the Lebanon civil war, religious violence in India, the first Intifada and the collapse of East European communism. Mark grew up in Chicago, graduated from Middlebury College and lives in Providence.
