Mark Shech­n­er is pro­fes­sor emer­i­tus at the Uni­ver­si­ty at Buf­fa­lo, SUNY. He has pub­lished wide­ly on Amer­i­can lit­er­a­ture and Amer­i­can Jew­ish fic­tion and intel­lec­tu­al life and has done exten­sive book review­ing over the course of his career.
