Sheila Jelen is the Zan­tk­er Pro­fes­sor of Jew­ish Lit­er­a­ture, Cul­ture and His­to­ry at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Ken­tucky, Lex­ing­ton. She is the author, most recent­ly, of Sal­vage Poet­ics: Post-Holo­caust Amer­i­can Jew­ish Folk Ethno­gra­phies (2020) and co-edi­tor of many vol­umes, includ­ing Recon­struct­ing the Old Coun­try: Amer­i­can Jews in the Post Holo­caust Decades (2017) and The Book Regained: Shai Agnon Comes Home (in press).
