Stan­ford M. Adel­stein led his family’s firm, the North­west­ern Engi­neer­ing Com­pa­ny for decades. Along the way, he helped found the Syn­a­gogue of the Hills and was deeply involved in many Jew­ish advo­ca­cy orga­ni­za­tions includ­ing the AJC AIPAC and the Repub­li­can Jew­ish Coali­tion. A long­time phil­an­thropist civic activist and polit­i­cal oper­a­tive he became well known as ​“that Jew from South Dakota.”
