Steve Zeitlin received his Ph.D. in Folk­lore and Folk­life from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Penn­syl­va­nia. He is the found­ing direc­tor of City Lore, New York’s cen­ter for urban folk cul­ture. He is the author of ten books on Amer­i­ca’s folk cul­ture, includ­ing Because God Loves Sto­ries: An Anthol­o­gy of Jew­ish Sto­ry­telling and The Poet­ry of Every­day Life.
