This mem­oir con­cerns the path­way to the rab­binate by one of the first women to be ordained. From a dif­fi­cult child­hood to leav­ing home to Israel dur­ing wartime to serv­ing in the IDF, through pover­ty, divorce, and pul­pits, it is a sto­ry of per­se­ver­ance, faith, and the need to belong to a Jew­ish com­mu­ni­ty. It is a sto­ry of the uphill bat­tle of a strong fem­i­nist who finds many issues that require faith in one­self when the world around you wants you to go away. The book con­tains 20 poems on point as the author is a pub­lished poet.
