Cel­e­brate Short Sto­ry Month with the authors of the two sto­ries pub­lished in the 2026 issue of Paper Brigade

In con­ver­sa­tion with Paper Brigades edi­tors, Ali Littman (“Coy­otes”) and Nicole Haz­an (“The Hotel”) will read from and dis­cuss their work. Par­tic­i­pants are warm­ly invit­ed to ask the authors questions.

Pur­chase the 2026 issue of Paper Brigade to read all three sto­ries in print.

Nicole Haz­an grad­u­at­ed with dis­tinc­tion from UEA’s MA in prose fic­tion. A Push­cart Prize nom­i­nee, her short fic­tion has appeared in the New Orleans ReviewNew Let­ters and Lilith, among oth­er pub­li­ca­tions. Her nov­el in progress was longlist­ed for Mslex­i­a’s nov­el award as well as short­list­ed for Ori­on’s The Space to Write” project.

Ali Littman is a fic­tion writer and play­wright based in San Fran­cis­co. She is cur­rent­ly fin­ish­ing a short sto­ry col­lec­tion about the girls and women of a Jew­ish sleep­away camp, of which Coy­otes” is the sem­i­nal sto­ry. Her work has appeared in The Brook­lyn Review and Bar­ren, and her play, Banana Point, is a final­ist with the Bay Area Play­wrights Foundation.
