Coop­er left Cal­i­for­nia for Israel in 1966 & lived there eleven years. While study­ing at Hebrew Uni­ver­si­ty and Tel Aviv Uni­ver­si­ty Med­ical School, he per­formed as an actor & musi­cian on stage and Israeli TV. After med­ical school, Coop­er returned to the US and spe­cial­ized in pedi­atric car­di­ol­o­gy where he enjoyed a 40-year career. Coop­er is a writer of his­tor­i­cal fic­tion set in Israel and has pub­lished four prize-win­ning books.
