Peter Cole is the author of six volumes of poems and many books of translation, including The Dream of The Poem: Hebrew Poetry From Muslim and Christian Spain, 950‑1492 and Aharon Shabtai’s Requiem (both winners of National Jewish Book Awards). Cole’s other honors include an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award, the PEN Translation Prize, and a MacArthur Fellowship.
